When applying for fibre broadband, if the ISP says that 'cable routing' or 'arranging cable pulling' is required, it usually means that your building already has fibre optic equipment but your unit does not have a fibre optic connection. The ISP needs to arrange for a technician to pull a fibre optic cable from the building's equipment room to your unit.
The cable routing process usually requires scheduling an appointment, and a technician will come to your home to carry out the work. The whole process takes about 1-2 hours. They will pull the fibre optic cable from the equipment room to your unit along the building's cable trays, and then install the ONT (Optical Network Terminal).
It should be noted that the cable trays in some older buildings may be full. In this case, the building management office may need to cooperate before construction can begin. If you encounter this problem, you can ask the ISP to communicate with the management office, which can usually be resolved.
